The purpose of implementing automated guided vehicles is to provide a more accurate inventory placement, a more expedient movement of inventory and a reduction of labor needed to move such inventory.

Purpose:
Design, develop, and implement a generic interface between the customer ERP system and an AGV system which can be used by all manufacturing plants installing AGVs.

Functionality provided:
> Receive inventory from Warehouse to the production line
> Move inventory from Production Line to warehouse
> Production line places a pallet on Hold
> Remove a pallet from hold status
> Return hold pallets to the warehouse
> Perform warehouse reconciliation
> Synchronize ERP and AGV databases
> Interface ERP and AGV using socket communications
